Our committed volunteers are available to do research for YOU! We offer several ways to have research done and prices for those services. We highly enourage sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to help you cut down on shipping and handling costs.
Prepayment is required and will be accepted by check or money order. Please do not send cash by mail.
Be as specific as possible in your research requests. Please do not send a request for us to research all of the Smiths in Audrain County, Missouri. We will try to find as much information as we can on your request, however, if you are looking for a particular things (ie: obituary), please request that. Be aware that we will only research one name per request.
Charges for Research:
$10.00 Charge for each person to be researched at our facility, includes our 1884, 1936 and 1986 History of Audrain County, cemetery listings, obituary notices, marriage records, original Land Entries and Audrain County Atlas of 1876, 1897 and 1918. City Directories, 1876 - current (some volumes missing). Federal Census reports, Family Biographies (many volumes). Vertical, and Query files, and our Index Card File, which includes thousands of names, etc. On receipt of your $10.00 a volunteer will began work on your request.
$ 5.00 Charge for trip to the court house if you request it. This $5.00 charge is non refundable and will be needed in advance. On receipt of this $5.00 a volunteer will then go to the court house to look for what you have requested. There will be an addition charge of $1.00 for each page copied plus your postage.
$5.00 each obituary. $3.00 death certificate copy (from internet)
$1.00 first page copied from copier; multiple copies $0.25 each for non-members, members $0.10 each.
$5.00 each for cemtery tombstone pictures (if a volunteer is available)
$1.00 First page copied from Micro Film Reader . $0.50 for each additional page, members - $0.25 for each additional page

Send a stamped self addressed envelope if you only need two (2) or three (3) pages of information, such as a Death Certificate or a couple of pages for an Obituary. If you want a search that will require copies of over four (4) pages there is a flat postage charge of $3.25.

The Audrain County Area Genealogical Society is dedicated to assisting individuals with an interest in genealogical and family history by providing educational programs, seminars, formal classes and volunteer assistance.
Our society researches, compiles and publishes records and materials pertaining to Audrain County and surrounding areas. The Society has a microfilm reader/printer for patrons, along with many rolls of Audrain Coutny history on microfilm. There are rolls of microfilm pertaining to other area counties and states available too.
The Society will make every effort to respond to written inquires from out of town researchers requesting Audrain County information.
